On Saturday, racers were greeted with very damp conditions that left the track spotted with deep mud holes which made for even more of a challenging course.

Lee Smith continued his winning streak in the 13-15 yrs 300cc 4 Stroke Quad Class by clinching his fourth consecutive win of the season at the Big Nasty MAXC aboard his Yamaha Raptor 250. Placing less than thirty seconds behind Smith was #911 Michael Anderson from Cloverdale, IN in second. Rounding out the 13-15 yrs 300cc 4 Stoke Youth ATV Class Podium was #28 Cole Fletcher in third.

Although the rain did hold off the for Youth and bike classes, the afternoon ATV racers had no such luck. The rain began to fall just as the ATV racers were called to the starting line. After much debate, it was decided that the ATVs would still race in the rain and hope for the best.

As the rain continued to fall, the riding conditions began to deteriorate with every passing minute. By the end of lap one, racers could barely see where they were going with so much mud and rain hindering their vision. The harsh conditions began to take its toll on the racers and it became hard to tell which way the track was going.

Due to the wet & muddy conditions the afternoon ATV race was cut short. AMA MAXC ATV Racing will resume at France Park in Logansport, IN on July 27th

With less than desirable racing conditions and confusion about where the track was going the race was cut short and determined a wash out with no official way to verify a correct finishing order.
For those who did enter the AMA MAXC Big Nasty ATV Race however, they will receive free race entry at the next round in Logansport, IN on July 27th. ATV racers that signed up for the AMA MAXC Big Nasty and raced will also receive double points at the next round.
