In the Open Pro class it was Can-Am Motowork’s
Jeremie Warnia who would grab the win, but in moto
two, Warnia was left sidelined due to mechanical
issues that surfaced in moto two of the Pro Production
class.

Kawasaki's John Shafe made his season debut
in the Open Pro Class & he finished
an impressive 2nd Overall behind Keith Tebeau |
Honda rider, Keith Tebeau would go on to take
his first win in the Open Pro class with a 2-1
finish, which bumped him up to fourth place in
the Open Pro points. John Shafe finished in a
close second aboard his Polaris Outlaw 450MXR,
while Dennis Capogni grabbed a 4-3 finish to take
the final spot on the podium. David Haagsma held
on strong to take a fourth place overall and Rafael
Guzman’s 7-5 had his rounding out the top
ten.

injured in a crash and remains in the ICU

In the 450 Production Expert class, Can-Am Motowork’s
Dillon Zimmer, who was in the points lead, suffered
a horrible crash off the start. Zimmerman was airlifted
to the hospital and placed in intensive care with
nine broken ribs a broken scapula, and some internal
injuries. “He’s in a lot of pain, but
is able to sit up and talk to us. It is very unfortunate,
but we are all glad that he will be ok,” said
team manager Johnny Leach. Although it may take
a while, Zimmerman is expected to make a full recovery.
With Zimmerman out of commission, Kody Evans
grabbed his first 450 Production Expert win of
the season, followed by Garrin Fuller in second
and Jeff Bejeuzzi in third.
Round number five of the 2009 Yamaha ITP Quadcross
series is scheduled for July 26th at Racetown
395 in Adelanto, CA, where Jeremie Warnia and
Dustin Nelson will be locked in battle for the
Pro Points lead.
