#2 Doug Eichner regains the Open Pro Points
lead with his 4th Win of the season |
In the Open Pro class, Doug Eichner, who is a fan
of night racing, grabbed the holeshot in both motos
and checked out. “The lighting at the track
was challenging in some places,” stated Eichner.
“There was this one jump towards the back.
It wasn’t a big jump, but it was pretty dark
and you couldn’t see the landing very well
and some of the guys were a little intimidated by
that, but it didn’t really bother me, so I
just went for it,” said Doug.
TJ Dietrich, who is now second in the Open Pro points
race, also made an impressive showing this weekend.
The number 55 Yamaha came off the line and held
a consistent second place in both motos. Nic Granlund,
Roberto Villalobos, and Danny Ragan were all running
strong and battling through both motos, swapping
places and giving the crowd plenty of action to
take in.

Overall, Doug Eichner’s dual moto win landed
him on top of the podium; with TJ Dietrich securing
second overall with his 2-2 finishes. Nic Granlund
came on strong and took the final spot on the
podium while Roberto Villalobos claimed fourth
and Danny Ragan rounded out the top five in the

race between Eichner, who is currently holding
down first with 182 points and Dietrich who is
close behind in second with 179. Roberto Villalobos
has had a solid season and is currently maintaining
third with 157, while last year’s Open Pro
champ, Darrell Patton is in 4th with 143 points.

#52 Dana Creech on the all new Polaris Outlaw
RZR S |
The Rhino class had a strong showing and put
on an awesome show for the spectators. There were
several very well built UTV’s participating
as well as Dana Creech in the new Polaris RZRs.
“It was a really fun race. There were some
pretty big jumps out there that we were hitting,”
said Creech. Dana and Jacob Person were battling
hard in the first moto with Creech in the lead,
until the # 52 RZR ran into a little trouble.
“Jacob and I were really going at it and
we hit this big jump with a turn after it. I just
kept the throttle pinned and ended up going over
the berm and rolling. Luckily one of the flaggers
helped me flip it back over and I kept going,”
Dana said. The crowd was going wild with all the
action and cheering Dana on, but despite all the
support and his best efforts, Creech was unable
to regain the lead in moto one and had to settle
for second. In moto two, however, Creech was determined
to win. He took the holeshot and checked out on
the rest of the pack. Creech’s 2-1 finishes
earned him first overall, while Jacob Person claimed
second with his 1-3 finishes. Eric Bartlett earned
the final spot on the podium on his Honda Pilot,
with Duane Bartlett taking fourth and Mike Wolfskill
claiming fifth overall.
Round number eight of the Yamaha ITP Quadcross
series will be heading to Riverside, CA on October
19th, where the Milestone Ranch MX Park will play
host to the series for the first time. This should
be an exciting round as the points battles are
heating up with several close races for championships
in many classes.
