Palatka, FL (3/9/2015) - The 4x4
Pro class swept the overall Wild Boar GNCC Morning
Overall Podium at round one of the 2015 GNCC series
where UXC Racing’s Kevin Trantham clinched the first
win of the season with teammate Michael Swift in
second followed by Can-Am’s Bryan Buckhannon in
third.
Soft sand and palmetto roots seem to be a staple
for Florida, but racers always look forward to
those conditions as it signals the beginning of
the GNCC race season. Anticipation was high and
there was plenty of excitement in the air as the
GNCC racing morning classes headed to the starting
line.

Cool temps were on hand for the morning classes
hovering in the low 50’s, but it was a welcomed
break from all the snow and cold that has plagued
much of the eastern half of the country. This
was the first time in eleven years the GNCC series
has held a race in Palatka, Florida. Track conditions
were good and fairly dry not like the mud fest
riders encountered last year in Florida at the
Mud Mucker GNCC.

Kevin Trantham made the switch to Polaris with
UXC Racing and took the season opener by storm.
Trantham, who stated he has not had much seat
time on his new Polaris Scrambler XP except for
a few local events, didn’t quite get the start
he was looking for and was in fifth as the headed
into the second lap, but Trantham charged hard
and made his way into second place in lap two.

Trantham stayed close to leader Michael Swift
and when Swift got hung up in lap traffic, Trantham
was able to make his move and take over the lead.
Trantham held off Swift for two laps before crossing
the finish line for his first win of the season.

“It feels awesome to switch to the Polaris this
year and take the win. This track was rough, but
I really enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting to be
up front and didn’t know where I would be coming
into this race, but it worked out well for me.
I am really glad to be a part of the UXC team.
Michael Swift has done a great job on building
these quads. He and I have been good friends for
a long time, so I really have to give him a big
thanks for everything he is doing,” said Trantham.
