Brownstown, IL - The 2007 ATVA
Duro Extreme Dirt Track Nationals Series provided
some exciting racing all season. While several of
the classes were determined with one or more races
still remaining, several went down to the wire and
were settled the final weekend of the series. The
series saw a variety of weather throughout the 8
races with rain coming to several of the events
as well as some of the races with scorching temperatures.
EDT racers also found a variety of track layouts
to test their skills as each track was unique in
design giving the riders a different challenge at
each event.
Women’s Class
All three of the top riders in the Women’s
class had a chance at the title going into the
final round. With last years class champion, Candace
Lee, only appearing in one race this season in
VA, where she took a victory, there was sure to
be a new champion for 2007.

#77 Amanda
Howe
|
Amanda Howe took a slim lead into the final round
action over Bailey Williams and Paula Shank. Shank
started off the year with a win in round one and
then took the checkered flag again in the final
race in front of Williams and Howe, but it was
not enough as Howe had victories in rounds two,
six, and seven and was on the podium all eight
rounds to take the season title. Williams finished
second for the second year in a row and Shank
was third. Andrea Creech finished in the fourth
spot and Lexi Wren rounded out the top five for
the 2007 series.
A Classes
 |
#4
Garrett Jackson |
The A classes saw a first as last years youth
production champion Kendall Webb won both the
Production A and 4-Stroke A classes. As far back
as records indicate it is the first time any rider
has come out of the youth classes to take two
National titles in the A classes. Webb had the
Production class won after round 6 in NC and had
the 4-Stroke class wrapped up after round 7 in
PA. It was round three in VA before any of the
other riders took a win in any of the A classes
as Garrett Jackson took the 265 class victory
after Webb pulled off the track with one turn
to go and a big lead when his bottom cases cracked
forcing his early exit. Jackson would also take
round 4 before Webb came back with victories in
rounds 6 and 7 to set up a showdown for the final
round of the season.

Both riders new going into the race where they
needed to finish to win the series. Webb needed
another win and Jackson needed only to finish
second to take the title. When the final race started
round 5 winner and pro am rider Doug Obie took
the early lead with Webb right on his grab bar
while Jackson was in the 5th spot. Webb and Obie
traded spots several times through the split lanes
before Webb settled in front with a comfortable
lead until lap 7 when his quad had electrical
problems forcing an early exit for the 3rd time
in the series in the 265 class. Jackson worked
his way into the second spot while Obie held on
for his second win of the series.

#21
Kristopher Bures |
The title went to Jackson while Webb ended up in
2nd and Obie was 3rd. “I hated to see Kendall
have to pull of the track” Jackson said “but
we’ll take it anyway we can, he is hard to
beat”. When asked if he was disappointed,
Webb said “it’s never fun to not win
a race, but I had a great season with two titles
and I’m looking forward to racing in the pro
am classes next year”. John Vandermarek ended
the season in the fourth spot and Ken Mcgregor rounded
out the top five in the 265 class. Jackson was also
2nd in the Production class and Obie again 3rd.
Peter Barie followed Obie for the year in the fourth

class Webb was followed by two pro am riders as
Kristopher Bures was 2nd and Ryan Partee finished
