ATV Race Report
The main event for the Pro Class did not make it to the
line before the rains on Saturday evening. The racing
had been put on hold until Sunday morning with more
rain in the forecast. Rich Hetrick new with the
forecast he would have a hard time getting the races
finished and indeed the rains came again Sunday
morning in a heavy fashion putting an end to the
weekend. The remaining races, including the Pro
and Pro Am production classes, would be scored off
the heat races.

Michael Coburn earns his first Pro win at
Tri City Speedway |
The third and final heat of the Pro class had the
fastest time of the day giving Michael Coburn his
first Pro win. Coburn jumped three spots in the
points standing from ninth to sixth. The second
heat, won by Sparks Racings Shane Hitt, was the
second fastest heat and moved Hitt into the overall
points lead over Houser’s Harold Goodman,
who for the first time this year is not leading
the series. After winning three of the first four
rounds Goodman has run into some bad luck, but can
still win the series with a victory in the final
round, “I can still pull it out with a win
in the final race” Goodman said. Brian Ace
had his best finish of the season in fourth and
he was followed by Danny McGraw, Mitch Reynolds,
Frank Batista, Brandon Shipman, Zac Willett, and
Zac Stanley. While Goodman and Hitt have traded
positions at the top, Frank Batista, Mitch Reynolds
and Chuckie Creech all retained their third thru
fifth positions.

Zac Willet was on top of his game with a
season first Podium finish |
The Pro Am Production class was also scored off
the heat race times as well, and Michael Coburn
was once again the winner as he won the second heat.
Duro Tires rider Zac Willett won the first heat
to take second and his first podium finish of the
year. Frank Batista followed Coburn in the second
heat to take the third spot and he was followed
by Shane Hitt, Brandon Hill, Harold Goodman, Brandon
Shipman, Brad Riley, Doug Obie and Mitch Reynolds
all in the top ten. With one round to go Goodman
holds a commanding lead in the points over Frank
Batista and Mitch Reynolds. Brad Riley is in the
fourth spot and only nine points are between Riley,
Brandon Hill, Michael Coburn, Chuckie Creech, and
Zac Willett.

KTM's Tim Farr wrapped up the ProAm Unlimited
Championship |
The Pro Am Unlimited class was the only Pro/Pro
Am class to run their main event over the weekend
and KTM rider Tim Farr was glad as he was able
to make up for a bad start in his heat race. The
first heat saw Brandon Hill take the early lead
over Darin Ogden Kristopher Bures, and Ryan Partee.
Ogden was around Hill through the split lanes
in lap two and Partee was able to get into the
third spot in the final lap behind Ogden and Hill.
In the second heat Aron Reisig took the holeshot
ahead of Zac Stanley and Tim Farr. Farr was able
to get around Stanley in the front straight of
lap 2 and Stanley then spun out going into the
first set of split lanes. Farr was pressing Reisig
hard but Reisig hung for the victory.
