2013 AMA Racing ATV Extreme Dirt Track Nationals Round #5 - Goldsboro, NC Busco Beach July 14, 2013

In the Pro-Am Unlimited class it was Brad Riley once again defending his multi-time Unlimited class championship with another solid win. The first holeshot of the class actually went to the #21 of Kris Tiffer Bures with #53 Kirby Cooke sliding into the first spot heading into the first corner. Within the first lap however, #71 Nathan Wolff and #92 Michael Houghton got into a gnarly crash heading down the backstretch on the inside which resulted in a red flag.

Upon the restart, Riley did what he does best and got a great holeshot, just behind Dustin Hoffman. Riley made short work of Hoffman around lap 5 slipping by with Cooke still in-tow and continued on to take the class main win without much struggle.

#53 Maxiss / JRi’s Kirby Cooke made his way onto the podium in the second place position after two hard fought holeshot battles and contending with Riley for the lead and also slipping by Hoffman during the mid part of the race. Cooke piggybacked behind Riley as the pair screamed around the track up front and was able to make a pass on Hoffman for the second place spot where he finished for the evening. Cook was pleased with the result and looks forward to racing next week in Ohio.

Dustin Hoffman set himself up for a great night during the Pro-Am Unlimited main event which saw him snagging a holeshot ahead of Riley and Creech. Hoffman held his own for much of the race until the ever-present force of Riley and Cooke made their way around him bumping Hoffman back to the third spot where he finished out of moto.

Jordan Rummage put on a great show battling with Evanyke for the Pro-Am Unlimited class as well. Rummage ended up taking a fourth place finish after a successful front-end holeshot. Evanyke was back on his game during the main event and finished inside the top five with a solid ride behind Rummage and presenting himself as a forced to be reckoned with from now on in the Pro ranks.

The weekend turned out to be a great scene for racing action with many battles and mix ups in the points chases! The next race for Extreme Dirt Track ATV Nationals will take place at the famous Pine Lake raceway in Ashtabula, Ohio on July 27-28th.
