Michael Houghton grabbed the ProAm Unlimited
Holeshot & held the lead for several
laps with #53 Kirby Cooke in chase |

Maxxis'
#53 Kirby Cooke charged his way out front
to claim the Pro-Am Unlimited class win |
In the Pro-am Unlimited class, Kirby Cooke, who
also won his heat race, held off Brad Riley for
the win in the main event. Cooke’s impressive
performance not only allowed him to top the Pro-am
Unlimited podium, but with only five points between
them, also let him edge out Chuckie Creech for second
in class points. “I’ve had a great time
this year and we have been improving all season
so I am hoping to carry that forward to next year,”
said Cooke.
Pro-am Unlimited points leader Brad Riley had
such an impressive spread over the competition,
that he could have sat this one out and still
claimed the championship, but being a true competitor,
Riley had no intensions of sitting on the sidelines
and charged hard to take a second place finish,
and bring home the Pro-am Unlimited championship.
“I have to thank my sponsors and everyone
that helped me out this season. It’s been
a good year and I’m hoping for an even better
one next season,” said Riley.

Malaska's
#27 Brad Riley
claimed the 2nd spot on the Podium, which
was more than enough to secure the Pro-Am
Unlimited Class Championship
|
Michael Houghton was impressive in the final
Pro-am Unlimited race as he charged his way to
the final spot on the podium. Houghton, who has
only raced a few rounds this year, was looking
strong and fast as he held off series veterans
Chuckie Creech and Nicholas Camilli to take his
first podium finish of the year.
Chuckie Creech would find himself finishing in
the number four spot in the Pro-am Unlimited class
for the day, which gave him third in championship
points, while Nicholas Camilli rounded out the
top five for the day, which was also his best
finish of the season.

Although the 2011 Extreme Dirt Track Series has
just concluded, the Coburn family has already
been hard at work on next season’s schedule
of events and will be making an announcement in
the near future with dates and venues. “We
have almost everything confirmed for next season
already. We are trying to make the series even
better and we are trying to bring in more racers
and spectators to help the series grow. We will
be making an announcement, regarding next season,
in the next few weeks when we have everything
confirmed,” said Michael Coburn.
Now that the season is over, most racers will
be enjoying a little R&R, and with next season’s
schedule almost completed, racers will have plenty
of time to prepare for next year where the competition
is expected to grow in both participants and intensity.
