Lake Elsinore, CA - For the second straight year, Yamaha’s Bill Ballance has conquered the Elsinore Grand Prix in Lake Elsinore, CA. Just three weeks early, Bill Ballance celebrated his seventh GNCC ATV Pro Championship, and he now has yet another win to add to his impressive resume, and he wasn’t the only GNCC racer to shine in this west coast premiere race with Johnny Gallagher and Traci Cecco both running strong in their first ever Elsinore GP race.

2006 marked the 10th year anniversary of the Elsinore GP since it was brought back from retirement, and it continues to gain in popularity as well over 1,000 riders participated in this year’s event.

The one thing that stands out about the Elsinore GP over other off road race events is the start. The race is actually started on Main Street, and the racers race down the paved street before heading offroad and into the hills surrounding the valley town.

7-Time GNCC ATV Champion
The “Holeshot King”, Bill Ballance, wasted no time in taken over the lead with California’s Darrell Patton applying the pressure for several laps, but engine failure ended his challenge on Ballance. The multi-time champion, Doug Eichner, received an early front flat tire, which was followed by yet another flat in the rear, which kept him from charging for the lead. Ohio’s Johnny Gallagher (GNCC Series) was able to charge his way through the pack and into the second place behind his good friend Bill Ballance where he stayed till the final lap of the race. With the final lap nearly complete, Gallagher experienced mechanical issues, which opened the door for Doug Eichner to round out the podium with a third place finish. Yamaha’s Traci Cecco (5 Time GNCC ATV Women’s Champion) also had an impressive race finishing in the top 10.

Due to scoring issues, the complete results are not yet available are expected to be released after November 20th.
