Dirt Series - Round 8 - 333
MX Park - Race Report
Alex Theodorou Wins Pro ATV
& Nic Granlund Wins Pro SX
In UTV Pro and Unlimited, Granlund dominated
both races in his Yamaha. Fresh off racing WORCS
over the weekend at Glen Helen, Granlund has used
the DIRT Series as a way to practice between WORCS
and BITD races.

Granlund Holeshot |
“I like the DIRT Series,” said Granlund “It’s
more local and laid back. Steve puts on a really
good series and the tracks are always fun. I like
the motocross and the jumps. It suits my driving
style. This is my time to test and tune and practice.
I really like supporting the local races because
if we don’t do that we won’t get any new talent.
It’s great to see all the little kids. They have
a really strong youth class.”

In Production 1000, Granlund’s friend David Palmer
won in his first SXS race ever. Granlund helped
him setup his car prior to the race and Palmer
came out a three-car battle to score the victory.
Palmer finished second in the Unlimited race,
just behind Granlund.

Palmer |
“This is my first race in the DIRT Series and
my first race every in a SXS-sanctioned event,”
said Palmer. “Nic Granlund has helped me all weekend
and it panned out to a nice couple of races. I’m
loving the series. I used to race quads, and I
decided to step it up the SXS and see how it goes.”

Casey
Sims |
In UTV Open 800, Casey Sims furthered her lead
in the points chase and beat out closest competitor
Hali Pepper Williams. Sims finished 2-1 in the
motos.

“Hali Pepper was in front of me in the first
moto and I got caught in the mud and the sand,”
said Sims. “She just had the right clutching to
get ahead of me. I changed my starting position.
I went out wider and got out ahead of her. I was
able to do the doubles in the infield. The DIRT
Series is fun.”
