ATVCCS Heads To River Run
Cross Country For First Round
::Continued::
In the Junior class, new comer to ATVCCS, Shade
Spencer took the win. Logan James got off to the
early lead and held the lead for the first lap
followed by Cody Davis, Shade Spencer, Joshua
Miller, and Tim Butler. On lap 2 Shade made his
move and passed both Logan and Cody to take the
lead. Marshall Jeffries started off in sixth on
the first lap and moves into fourth on the second
lap but then he went wide in a turn near the end
of the last lap and allowed Joshua to take fourth.
The win went to Shade, followed by Logan, Cody,
Joshua, Marshall, Nathan Swift, and Tim Butler.
In the Amateur B class Randy Fox took the win
followed by Lucas Berry, Scott Maze, Win Cramer,
and Bobby McLaughlin. This whole class stayed
very tight for the whole race, and provided the
camera crews with very exciting race footage.
Justin Underwood is a man on a mission in the
35+ class. He totally out classed the rest of
the field in his class and ended up finishing
fourth Overall in the B Program. Second place
went to Dan Greene, third to Matt Horton, fourth
to James West, and fifth to John Scott.
The 45+ class had a great duel going on between
Dennis Wilson and Ron Swift. You could have thrown
a blanket over these two riders at any given time
during the race. Dennis must have nerves of steel
as he never wavered even though Ron was never
more than a few feet behind. At the finish there
was only 3 seconds separating them. Dewey Miller
finished third riding a buck board, Johnny Britton
finished fourth, and Charlie Bridges brought the
250R home in fifth.
Clint Yount won the Pro Class and the Overall
in the A Program. Clint got off to a dead last
start but charged his way through the pack to
move into the lead on the second lap. Josh Carlson
finished second, followed by Gerald Dowden. Marty
Buchanan took the win in the 30+ class followed
by Mike Yount. Dan King took the win in the Open
class. Anthony Perry burned in on the second lap
and was unable to finish the race. Jeremy Best
took the win in the Novice A class and was followed
by Dustin Yount.
Next race is at Barnwell Mountain on September
12-13 and this will be the second round of the
Fall Series of ATVCCS.
