PRO ATV MOTO TWO >> Continued
Can-Am's Cody Miller Pro ATV Motocross Racers
Warnert Racing's Pro Rookie,Cody Miller, ended the season on a high note with his 2nd best finish of the season in 7th place Overall, which earned him a spot in the Top 10 in points
Cody Miller was having a good race as well, coming off the line in 8th place, he worked his way into the number six spot until the last lap when Josh Creamer, who was on a mission to claim a spot on the podium, caught up to Miller. “I heard a bike right behind me and when I looked over, Josh was right next to me. I did my best to hold him off, but then we went into the whoops a little too fast,” said Miller. Both Creamer and Miller had to back off the throttle at that point and got a little squirrelly and that’s when Creamer made his move to pass Miller, which secured him the 4th place position in the points race. “I’m happy that I got 4th in points because it’s my best so far, but I really wish I would have been in the top three,” Creamer stated. Creamer will be attending the Steel City Invitational, which coincidentally falls on his 23rd birthday. Steel City will be Josh’s final event for a while, as he will be going in for surgery on his knee in early September to have a torn ACL repaired.

Creamer isn’t the only one who will be having surgery to fix his injuries in the off season, Can-Am Warnert Racing’s John Natalie will also be going under the knife after Steel City. “I have to go in and have my rotator cuff repaired and I also have a couple of fractures in my shoulder that I have to have looked at,” said John, who claimed 7th in points, just three points under Chad Wienen’s 6th place of 268 points.

Harold Goodman - Honda TRX 450R ATV
Josh Upperman - Honda TRX 450R ATV
Rage ATV Racing's Harold Goodman secured another top 10 finish, and finished out the year in 8th place with a chance at the Pro Championship in Extreme Dirt Track
Unfortunately for Honda's Josh Upperman, a mechanical failure left him sidelined for the majority of the 2nd Moto, but his was more than enough to secure him a 9th Place in the Points for 2008

Harold Goodman, who had a tough time of things in moto one, took the number eight position in moto two. Harold had been running very consistently all season and was a contender for the top five in the points race, but with Chad Wienen finishing strong in the last two rounds, he was edged out of the top five by just 18 points and settled into the 8th spot only 4 points behind John Natalie Jr. in seventh.

As they reached the checkered flag, it was Joe Byrd who took the win. “I really wanted to get another win before the end of the season and even though my head broke in the first moto, I was glad to be back on track in the second one,” said Byrd, who claimed second in the Nationals points race and took the ITP Grand Slam Championship. Byrd had good reason for wanting to end the race on a high note as he will be one of he few Pros that will not be attending the Steel City Invitational on August 30th because Honda has unfortunately chosen not to support him for that particular event, even though their bike division will have full factory backing.

Although the 2008 season has concluded, there is still one more race on the AMA Pro agenda. The Steel City Invitational will be held on August 30th in Delmont, PA and will have the top 20 Pro ATV racers competing for one last shot at the podium before many of them head off for some well deserved R&R or back to the track to get an early start on training for next season
