Chad
Wienen & Josh Creamer hung up in the
mud |
Meanwhile, many racers were struggling
to keep themselves on the track while trying
to stay competitive. “I was trying to
pass Byrd in the whoops and he pinched me out.
I ended up going off the track and the next
thing I knew, I was sitting in a mud hole next
to Chad Wienen,” said Josh Creamer, who
was trying to work his way back up after being
caught in the 2nd turn pile up at the beginning
of the race. Wienen was able to get unstuck
before Creamer and finished in 13h place while
Josh, ended up settling for 17th.

Sparks
Racing, Rocco Arno Jr., records yet another
top finish in the mud with a 6th place
run, and he did it on stock tires and
wheels as their were very few Pros running
motocross tires |
Pat
Brown earned a season first podium finish
after an intense battle with John Natalie
Jr as the pair battled for the 2nd spot
till the last lap with Natalie making the
pass and Brown securing the third spot |

Dustin
Wimmer celebrates his 3rd win of the season
as he crosses the finish |
As racers approached the finish line, it was
Dustin Wimmer who was in a comfortable 1st, followed
by Natalie in 2nd and Pat Brown in 3rd. Doug Gust
stayed strong taking 4th place with Cody Miller
nipping at his heels in 5th. Rocco Arno once again
proved that privateers can hang with the big factory
names as he took a 6th pace finish, followed by
the #7 Honda of Joe Byrd in 7th. Josh Upperman
kept a good pace which allowed him to take 8th
place and Harold Goodman rode a solid race to
claim 9th, while Jason Dunkelberger rounded out
the number 10 spot. Kawasaki’s Keith Little
suffered mechanical issues and was unable to finish,
as did Brock Lyons and Cale Downen.
In the Pro-Am class, Yamaha’s Thomas Brown
and Cody Gibson put on quite a show as the two
battled back and forth for the entire moto. Brown
took the holeshot, but Gibson wasn’t about
to let Brown keep the lead, the pair changed positions
several times over the course of the race and
things became a bit intense at times, but right
after the pair took the white flag, Gibson’s
Suzuki came to a stop with a engine failure, which
allowed Brown to cruise to the checkered for the
win.

Despite
a mud speckled face, James Bank was smiling
ear to ear with the overall win |
Thomas
Brown & Cody Gibson battled tire to
tire for the lead nearly the entire race |
Brown may have won the race, but he didn’t
win the battle as the overall win was awarded
to Canadian racer, James Bank, who won the first
Pro Am Production Heat with the racers split into
2 heats for the main event.
The next round of the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals
will be heading to Mt. Morris, PA to High Point
Raceway on May 24th-25th where many racers are
hoping for their first dry race of the season.
