Buchanan,
MI (8/6/2015) –
Round nine of the 2015 Mtn Dew AMA ATV Motocross
National Championship headed north to Redbud MX
in Buchanan, MI July 25-26.
The weather provided for a dry track and great
conditions. Redbud is a long awaited stop on the
tour each year. Racers and fans alike enjoy this
high speed, big air, and rough track. The sandy
soil quickly turns rough and challenging early
into the day, testing the racers endurance and
skill. This was the penultimate round of the season,
so the pressure was on to gain valuable last minute
points towards the highly coveted national championships.
In College (16-24), Corey Powers rode his Honda
to first overall. Power’s dominated the first
moto, taking the win, and backed it up with a
second in moto two for the overall win.

The number 33 of Calen Mcginty took third the
first moto, but came back to win the second moto
for second overall. Mcginty started the second
moto in second place, but put down the fastest
lap of the class and moved into first place early
on.
Zach Kaczmarzyk went 2-3 for third overall, but
even more impressively, wrapped up the 2015 College
(16-24) national championship. “Coming into Redbud
I knew I just needed one last solid race to clinch
the championship. Saturday I took second and set
myself up good for Sunday. I holeshot the second
moto, but got tangled up with another rider on
the second lap and nearly crashed. I held on for
3rd place that moto for 3rd overall, and clinched
the championship! I have worked so hard for this
championship. I work every week to pay for my
racing and try to get out and ride as much as
I can on the weekends,” explained Kaczmarzyk.
In Open C, Jessie Voiles took the overall win.
Voiles dominated the class, winning both motos.
Voiles is sitting comfortably in third place in
points after RedBud.
