AMA Pro ATV Motocross
- Round 9 - Red Bud - Race Report
::Continued::
Yamaha’s Thomas Brown was looking good
off the start as he shot off the line in second
behind John Natalie. Brown stayed close and was
able to capitalize on Natalie’s mistake
late in the second lap and take the lead. Brown
held the lead for a few laps before Natalie forced
his way past. Brown then held off Chad Wienen
for several laps before falling back for a third
place finish in the final lap.

Yamaha's
#84 Thomas Brown took over the early lead
in Moto One with the pass on #1 John Natalie,
and Brown would go on to finish 3-4 for
4th Overall on the day
|
In the second moto, Brown had a good start once
again and came off the line in the number four
spot. Brown battled it out with Joel Hetrick and
moved into the number three spot, but Hetrick
fought back and Brown dropped back down to fourth.
Brown stayed close but was unable to remount a
charge and took fourth at the checkered flag,
which put him in fourth overall.
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Joel Hetrick got off
to a slow start in moto one in the sixth spot,
and Hetrick had a mechanical issue during the
moto, but held on to finish in sixth, which was
Hetrick’s worse finish since the season
opener.

Can-Am's
#88 Joel Hetrick ran into issues in Moto
one after challenging #9 Josh Creamer early
on in the Moto |
For moto two, Hetrick was looking much better
as he came off the line in fifth place and made
his way around both Josh Creamer and Thomas Brown,
and along the way, Hetrick secured the fastest
laptime of the moto with a time of 02:12.206,
putting him in third place. Hetrick stayed fast
and strong and held his position all the way to
the checkered flag for a third place finish, giving
him fifth overall
Can-Am/BCS performance’s Josh Creamer made
a strong showing at Unadilla, taking second on
the podium, but Red Bud’s moto one was a
little more of a challenge for him as he came
off the line in fourth behind Josh Upperman and
fell back to fifth in the second lap. Creamer
tried to make a move on Upperman late in the race,
but was not able to execute a pass and rounded
out the top five at the checkered flag.

Josh Creamer was in fourth off the start for
moto two and worked his way into third by the
second lap, but he then came under fire from Thomas
Brown and Joel Hetrick and fell back for a fifth
place finish. Creamer’s consistent 5-5 finishes
put him in sixth place overall for the day.

two consistent motos and came away with a seventh
place finish in moto one and an eighth place finish
in moto two for seventh overall.
Adam Clark went 8-9 for eighth overall and Houser
Racing’s Harold Goodman claimed ninth.

Rastrelli in 12th and Jonathon Ven John in 13th,
while Joe Byrd finished at the back with 14th.
The final round of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross
