#84 Thomas Brown charged his way past #13
John Natalie Jr in Moto One to claim the
Moto Win |
Yamaha/Ballance racing’s Thomas Brown grabbed
the moto one win after challenging Josh Upperman
and John Natalie. Brown was right behind Upperman
and Natalie off the start and after Upperman dropped
back into second, Brown was on a mission to get
by and chase down leader Natalie. Brown got by Upperman
and then caught up to Natalie, and after pressuring
the number 13 rider, Brown took over the lead and
pulled away slightly. Brown held his lead, despite
a last minute effort from Natalie, and took the
moto one win.

Yamaha's
#84 Thomas Brown once again battled with
Natalie in Moto 2 with Brown claiming the
2nd spot on the Podium |
In the second moto, Brown was charging hard in
fourth off the start and made quick work of Joel
Hetrick. Brown was then able to make the pass
on Josh Upperman with only a couple laps left
in the race and then went after John Natalie.
Brown pressured Natalie and almost got by him
on a couple of occasions, but was unable to make
a pass stick and would take second place at the
checkered flag, giving him second overall.
“I felt great out there. I have to thank Chad
Wienen and TOP training program. I have been working
with them and it has paid off. I just felt really
good out there today. The bike was running great
and it was just a really good race for me,”
stated Brown, who is now fourth in points.

Motorsports' #20 Josh Upperman grabbed both
Pro Moto Holeshots |
Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh Upperman was
looking good off the start as he grabbed the moto
one holeshot, but he had plenty of company with
John Natalie and Thomas Brown on his heels. Upperman
would eventually fall back to third after battling
with both Natalie and Brown to finish in third.
“I felt good out there, but I got a little
tired,” said Upperman.

Josh Upperman finished out Moto 2 in the
third spot |
In the second moto, Upperman again grabbed the
holeshot, but was quickly under pressure from
Natalie once again. Upperman made a mistake late
in the race which cost him his lead. Upperman
then came under fire from a charging Thomas Brown
and in almost the same place that Natalie made
his move, Brown took over second place when Upperman
bobbled. From there, Upperman settled in to take
the number three spot at the checkered flag and
third overall on the podium. “Every race
it’s all about being on the podium. We still
have one more round and I am hoping to win it
at Red Bud,” stated Upperman.
