AMA ATV MX Nationals
- Unadilla - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Walsh Race Craft’s Jeremy Lawson was just
outside of the top ten off the start in twelfth,
and made the most impressive charge of the moto
to take the number three spot at the checkered
flag. Lawson began to pick off the competition
and worked his way into eighth in the fourth lap,
but he didn’t stop there. Lawson kept pushing
hard and in the final laps of the race went from
sixth place into fourth in lap 13. In the final
lap, Lawson pressured Nick DeNoble and just before
the checkers flew, Lawson moved into the number
three spot.

Racecraft's #16 Jeremy Lawson got bad starts
in both Motos, but he didn't let it deter
him as he charged his way from 12th to 3rd
in Moto 1, and he did it again in Moto 2
when he went from 10th to 4th, which secured
the 4th overall spot, which keeps Lawson
in the wild card spot for the Pro Championship
with 28 points to make up on in the final
two rounds, which is nearly impossible,
but it makes Lawson still in the running |
Lawson was again in mid pack off the start for
the second moto and like in the first moto, put
in an amazing charge, working his way into the
number four spot before crossing the finish line,
giving him fourth overall for the day.

Canada's
#46 Richard Pelchat made an impressive 2011
ATV MX debut at Unadilla rounding out the
Top 5 on his Can-Am DS450. Pelchat focus
for 2011 is going after the 2011 CMRC ATV
MX Championship with Rounds 2 & 3 next
weekend at Moto Park in Ontario, Canada
|
Canadian racer, Richard Pelchat was looking great
off the start and he flew off the line in second
behind Neck DeNoble. Pelchat held down the number
two spot for several laps before falling back
and finishing in seventh. Pelchat again came on
strong in the second moto and battled it out with
Greg Gee and Jeremy Lawson before finishing in
the number six spot. Pelchat’s consistency
allowed him to round out the top five overall
for the day.
Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s Thomas Brown was
in the top five off the start and had his hands
full as he battled it out with Chase Snapp and
John Natalie. Despite his best efforts, Brown
was not able to hold off Natalie and would end
moto one in the number six spot. In the second
moto, Brown was in the top five off the start
and came under fire from Greg Gee and Jeremy Lawson
before dropping back to finish in seventh, giving
him sixth overall.

Racing's Thomas Brown went 6-7 for 6th Overall,
which boosted him past #48 Chase Snapp into
the 5th spot in the points race |
2010 CMRC Champion, #10
Greg Gee, rounded out the Top 5 in Moto
2 & finished 7th Overall on the day |
2010 Canadian MX champ Greg Gee was in attendance
for the Unadilla round and held on to round out
the top ten in the first moto. Gee came out stronger
in moto two and worked his way into the number
five spot before crossing the finish line. Gee’s
10-5 finishes had him finishing in seventh overall.
Devin Heimes put together two solid motos, going
11- 8 for eighth overall while Derek Swartfager,
who has been doing double duty also racing in
the GNCC series had a good first moto and held
on to finish in the number nine spot and followed
it up with tenth in moto two, giving him ninth
at the end of the day. GBC Motorsports’
Travis Moore’s moto two charge from the
back up to ninth, would allow him to round out
the top ten overall.

Motorsports' #123 Nick DeNoble grabbed the
Moto 1 Holeshot & finished out the moto
in the 4th spot for a great start to the
day |
Nick DeNoble grabbed the moto one holeshot, with
Joel Hetrick hot on his heels. DeNoble was able
to hold the lead for several laps, but Hetrick
kept the pressure on and DeNoble would fall back
to second. From there, DeNoble came under fire
from Josh Upperman and held him off for a couple
of laps, but Upperman would eventually get by.
DeNoble dropped back again when John Natalie came
calling, but a mistake by Natalie let DeNoble
work back up and eventually finish in fourth after
battling with Jeremy Lawson. Unfortunately, things
did not go as well for DeNoble in the second moto.
DeNoble got a decent start, but ran into trouble
late in the moto and dropped back to finish in
last place.
