Round 2 of the AMA ATV National Harescramble Series
was held in Haysville, North Carolina on Saturday
April 25th. The weather was alot better this time
around with temperatures hovering around 90 degrees
and sunny. The biggest concern on the course this
time would be dust instead of water. The 7+ mile
track would consist of alot of rolling hills and
fast sections all carved into the North Carolina
hillside. Lap times would be hovering around the
20 minute mark making this a 6 lap race.
There were 8 Pro's lined up in the first row
including Bryan Cook, Tom Wright, Brandon Sommers,
and Santo Derisi. Round 1 winner Brandon Sommers
was out to distance himself from the pack, but
Tom Wright took a quick lead and was pulling away
with Richie Brown right behind him. On the second
lap Bryan Cook would slip into the lead and Brandon
Sommers would follow in second place.

That is how it would remain after 6 laps with
Bryan Cook taking the overall, Brandon Sommers
in 2nd and Tom Wright in 3rd. Other GNCC regulars
in attendance were Stefanie Verkade taking her
second womens class win of the season and John
Gallagher Sr. taking his 2nd class win. Bryan
Buchannon also showed up and took his Can-Am Outlander
to a class victory.
With Round 2 in the books. The points chases
are heating up. The next race will be in Rhinelander,
Wisconsin.
