Houser
Racing's Pro Bounce Nerfs use wide pegs
that are slightly contoured to give a better
foot print on your boot. They also feature
a rubber ball that allows the pegs to absorb
impacts along the trail |
The peg area itself has a wide footprint with ample
teeth to help hold your boot. They aren't as aggressive
as others but seemed to do the job. The only issue
we had with the netted heel guard was that we did
not have them adjusted tight enough which allowed
the rear tire to grab the back of our riders boot,
and after adjusting them had no more issues. The
entire package offered no flaws that we could find,
and as stated, fit and finish were spot on. Details
usually separate what drives a consumer to or from
a product and with Houser, you usually get more
then you thought was there. Right down to the nerf
netting points, Houser has done everything they
could to deliver a product that will withstand the
abuse found in our sport.
Offered for both MX and XC riders in mind, the
largest downfall we can find and have heard is
the cost, which isn't solely shared by Houser.
The premier end of the nerf bar market is pricey
with the top brands fetching near the $500 mark
one has to choose what fits their needs compared
to their wallet. The system we were sent shows
as $475 retail so this is what we would consider
a major aftermarket investment to your program.
The hard part would be for us to recommend this
brand over any other with the cost being such
a deciding factor for so many. We would have to
say that they do perform as advertised and would
highly recommend them especially if you are looking
for every little bit of rider comfort after a
long day of racing. With handle bars on the market
that exceed the $300 mark, and offering basically
the same level of shock absorbing features albeit
for your wrists and arms, giving Houser Racing's
Pro Bounce nerfs a hard look is an easy recommendation.
