Mtn Dew AMA ATV Motocross - Round 2 - Muddy Creek |
At the AMA Pro ATV event, Wienen was charged up and ready to go at Muddy Creek Raceway in Tennessee, setting the quickest time in practice and earning first gate pick. But it was rival and eventual winner Joel Hetrick who grabbed the holeshot in both races, with Wienen, Brown and the rest of the pro field in pursuit. By the midway point of the first moto, the Yamaha YFZ teammates found themselves battling for second position behind Hetrick, with Wienen eventually gaining the advantage over Brown on the final lap.

2013 Yamaha Quad-X Round 2 - Racetown 395 |
Conditions at the Yamaha Quad-X race at Racetown 395 in Southern California were really tough, with a narrow, slippery track and nearly gale-force wind gusts pushing riders to their limits. In the first of two motos, Nelson got through turn one just behind Davi Haagsma and dogged his rival for the entire 20-minute moto, while also feeling pressure from pursuer Beau Baron. The trio ran in close formation the entire race, ultimately finishing scarcely a second apart. Even more determined, Nelson got a better start in moto two, squaring off the second turn to pass Haagsma for the lead. This time Haagsma eventually made a couple of mistakes and dropped back, leaving rival Baron to step up the attack and hound Nelson right to the flag.
