Brown Celebrating
his Pro-Am ATVA MX Championship
|
Cypress, CA (8/22/2008) - This
has been such a thrilling year for me. As I write
to you today, I am proud to announce I am the
2008 Pro-Am Production National Champion. It's
been a very exciting and rewarding season for
me as a competitive racer, but nothing could compare
to the thrill of the last two rounds of the ATVA
Motocross Nationals.
Our trip to Red Bud in Buchanan, Michigan proved
to be some of the closest racing of the season.
In the first heat, I came out of the Holeshot
in 3rd and within the first lap had moved to
the second position, close behind Cody Gibson.
Throughout the race, I watched Cody's lines
and patiently bought my time to make a pass.
With two laps to go, I passed for first, and
with a hard battle, took the win. In the second
moto, I came out of the holeshot in 8th and
immediately started to make passes to get to
the front. By the end of the first lap I was
in 2nd, and once again on Gibson's rear bumper.
With everything I had, I tried to find room
to pass and take the lead. With huge disappointment,
I took a hard earned 2nd place finish, which
luckily maintained my overall points lead going
into the final round.
The legendary Lorretta Lynns Ranch this year
again hosted the final round of the nationals,
and the chance to win the Pro Am ProductionChampionship.
In the first moto, I came out of the hole in
2nd, and made my way to the front. I am proud
to say that win sealed my 2008 championship.
With one moto left to go in the season, and
my championship won, I went into the second
moto excited and confident. In the first corner,
I was in 5th, but by the end of the first lap,
I had passed into 2nd. In the second lap, I
passed for first and led the remaining laps
to take one more win for the 2008 season.
As I am sure you remember, I began this year
with the wins that gave me the advantage of
starting the season on top. It has been exciting,
thrilling, and nerve racking at times, but this
season will be one that I will never forget.
I know my success this season would not be possible
without the support and encouragement of the
Yamaha team, all my dedicated sponsors, and
of course my family and friends. Enough cannot
be said for those of you that made this season
possible. I hope that I have represented you
well, and never let my appreciation for your
service go unnoticed.
A very special "Thank You"
to my 2008 Sponsors:
