WPSA Amateur Advisory Board Convenes
for the 2008 Season
White Bear Lake, MN (12/20/2007) - The
WPSA’s Amateur Advisory Board for the 2008
PowerSports ATV Tour held their first conference
in early December to discuss various aspects of
The Tour which would aid in implementing positive
changes for the upcoming season. Board members exchanged
ideas, issues, opinions and perspectives in an open
forum where each member’s input was considered,
evaluated and recorded for future use in the development
of programs which would help the WPSA to implement
substantive changes and to increase the value the
PowerSports ATV Tour brings to its racers.
Ginger Pittman of Pittman Racing said of the
conference, “I feel the Advisory Board is
made up of people who actually care about racing,
not people who are trying to line their pockets
or gain an advantage. I think the WPSA is genuinely
concerned about people and will put our ideas
to good use.”
The Amateur Advisory Board covered topics ranging
from the finalization of the 2008 schedule to
class structure, rule changes, practice times,
fees, pre-registration, track issues, trophies,
throw outs and the existing points system.
“We covered just about every topic you
could imagine.” Board member Ron Laurine
said. “It was refreshing to hear the input
of the members and to exchange ideas and solutions
with them that can do nothing but help the series.
I, for one, am excited to see the people of the
sport coming together for the good of the sport.
It’s a win-win situation for all involved.”
A few days following the conference Board Members
received a multiple page print out of all the
topics covered during their initial meeting. They
were encouraged by the WPSA to gather input from
other racers and families before convening for
their second conference where they will share
this valuable information with the board and begin
to formulate final decisions concerning the ‘08
PowerSports ATV Tour season.
The WPSA’s Amateur Advisory Board consists
of Mark Baldwin of Baldwin Motorsports, Debbie
Bartosek, Jody Bateman of JB Racing, Guy Land,
Ron Laurine and Ginger Pittman of Pittman Racing.
