White Bear Lake, MN (4/10/2007)
- The PowerSports ATV Tour has completed
its plans to offer alternative amateur racing lines
on its QuadTerrain Challenge courses this season.
The modifications to the courses will be used for
the three QTC amateur classes at each event on the
2007 schedule.
The new lines are being created to allow less experienced
riders to compete without the concern over experience
or equipment costs.
"We received quite a bit of feedback from our
up-and-coming riders to give them a better chance
to gain experience in the QuadTerrain Challenge Series,"
said PowerSports Entertainment CEO Rick Murphy. "The
philosophy behind offering the amateur alternative
racing lines is based on that feedback: To provide
less seasoned riders the chance to gain valuable racing
experience on a less challenging course.
"Additionally, the courses will allow for lower
overall racing budgets," added Murphy. "The
alternative lines will be much less trying on the
amateur quads, allowing them to race at a much reduced
overall budget."
The PowerSports ATV Tour kicks off its 2007 season
in two weeks, during the April 27-29 ITP Tires Southern
Open Championship at Silver Dollar Motocross Raceway
in Reynolds, Ga. The venue offers spectacular vistas
with views of the entire track, as well as giving
fans the ability to bring their own coolers. The event
will feature the Tour's three Pro classes: SuperQuad
Pro 450 MX, SuperSport side-by-side, and QuadTerrain
Challenge Pro Stock. In addition, there will be a
full card of Amateur, Women's and Junior racing
