White Bear Lake, MN (8/20/2006)
- Longtime WPSA Snocross affiliate
Rock Maple Racing (RMR) has signed an affiliate
agreement with the PowerSports ATV Tour to run
regional ATV races in the Northeast. The Rock
Maple Can-Am Series ran its first race last
weekend in Canaan, N.H. and has five more events
scheduled for the 2006 season.
RMR becomes the first regional affiliate for the
PowerSports ATV Tour. The regional series features
racing in both QuadMX and QuadTerrain Challenge in
30 Amateur and Pro Am classes.
"We're excited to welcome Rock Maple Racing
to the PowerSports ATV Tour," said PowerSports
Entertainment, Inc. CEO Rick Murphy. "RMR has
been a valued partner for many years in Snocross and
we're pleased to see it become our first regional
ATV affiliate. We envision RMR as the first of many
regional affiliates throughout North America.
"One of our goals as a National Championship
Tour is to build a vibrant ladder system which allows
riders to progress," added Murphy. "Our
regional tours will give riders a place to hone their
skills close to home, netting them the necessary experience
to run with the best of the best in ATV racing on
our National Tour."
"We have a strong Snocross affiliation, so partnering
with the WPSA on the ATV side was a natural step for
us as a regional tour," said Tara Saxton, RMR
Director. "We have an exciting schedule in both
New Hampshire and Massachusetts; a schedule we plan
to expand into other states throughout the Northeast
in future years. Our first race was a huge success,
and we're looking forward to more of the same.
