Phoenix, AZ (7/14/2014) - Lonestar Racing’s David Flores came on strong at round number six of the 2014 WORCS series and laid claim to the second spot on the Pro-am podium in Cedar City, UT.

Iron Mine MX hosted this round of the series and provided a good and fast course. Weather conditions were sunny and hot with temps reaching the century mark out on the track. The hot temps also helped to create dusty conditions.
Lonestar Racing’s David Flores came off the start in mid-pack and immediately began picking off the competition. “My quad bogged on the start, so I was kind of buried in the pack, and then it felt like my bearing carrier was locking up, but after a bit, it felt like it broke free, and I was able to start charging through the pack,” said Flores.

Despite the issues he encountered in his first lap, Flores recorded the fastest lap time of the Pro-am race in lap two with a time of 09:06.290. Flores’ speed soon had him in the fight for the number two spot. “My JRi shocks were working great out there and after my bearing carrier freed up I was able to chase down those guys. I caught Ryan Waldo and then Mike Sloan and was able to get around them,” said Flores.

Flores stayed on the gas and pulled a nice gap between him and third place. Flores crossed the finish line in second place; over a minute ahead of third place. “It felt really good to be back up on the podium. We had some issues at the last two rounds, but I think we have them worked out now, and I am hoping to finish out the rest of the season on the box,” said Flores.

Despite his issues at rounds four and five, Flores is currently third in series points in the Pro-am class. “The issues we had before really brought me down, but getting back on the podium has pumped me up. I really can’t thank our sponsors enough, Lonestar, JRi, Goldspeed; they have done an amazing job this season, and I am really happy with how everything has come together, and I am really excited for the next round,” said Flores.
