Elkland, PA (5/28/2008) -
On June 14th and 15th round 3 of the AMA Eastern
National Hare-scramble series will be held
at the Miles Mountain Motocross facility in
Elkland, Pa. Our event will be co-sanctioned
with the WNYOA series and the Pennsylvania
State series. This will be round 4 of the
WNYOA (Western New York Off-road Association)
series and round 7 of the Pennsylvania State
Series. With these three strong organizations
coming together we are hoping for a great
turnout. The event was also supposed to be
the first round of a new AMA recognized quad
series, but due to scheduling conflicts with
other promoters that will not happen this
year. Hopefully we get a very strong quad
turnout that will show the support of a series
like this and in 2009 a race to a quad #1
plate will happen.
This will be our 4th year hosting hare-scrambles.
Miles Mountain is located in north central
Pennsylvania. It is a beautiful facility with
two motocross tracks; hare scramble track
and a lighted super cross track. The facility
is constantly improving. The biggest this
year was expanding our parking deck and completing
a 5,000 foot irrigation system. We are honored
to have been awarded this race and are committed
to making it the best event possible. In January
we were voted 2007 promoter of the year and
2007 Hare-scramble of the year for the WNYOA
series. This was a great honor for us and
hopefully with your help we can make this
year’s event even better.
With the support of many great companies
we have a large amount of rider contingency
to give out this year. Tires, grips, and hundreds
of certificates to go along with the plaques,
will be given out as rider awards. A $3000
Pro class purse will also be handed out. The
creek jump will be back this year along with
a few new surprises. Saturday night will feature
a pit bike race and freestyle mx show. There
are classes for riders of all ages and ability,
including quads, bikes, pee-wee, minis and
mini quad, nearly 50 in total over the 2 days.
So come out and give it a try or just come
to watch the riders test themselves on the
course. More information on Miles Mountain
or WNYOA and the Pa State series can be found
