Galena, IL (5/22/2014) - Wienen extends his points lead after taking second overall at Round 3 at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, PA this past weekend. Thomas Brown went 6-5 for a fifth overall for the weekend. "I'm happy to have extended my points lead on the championship chase. I always hope to be on the top of the box at the end of the weekend but coming in second makes me want the top spot even more." said Wienen.

Wienen Motorsports SSi Yamaha Maxxis Walsh rider Chad Wienen was the first machine out of the first turn in moto 1 and grabbed his first holeshot of the season. He went on to extend a comfortable lead on the rest of the field and take the first checkers of the day. Meanwhile, teammate Thomas Brown came out of the first turn in the back of the field and had to work his way up the pack. Brown was able to make passes but only work his way up to the sixth place position before he reached the checkers.

As the gate dropped for moto 2, Wienen found himself out of the first turn in second. A few laps in, Wienen made a mistake and lost a position and sat in the third place position. Unable to find a place to pass, Wienen sat in third until two laps to go when he finally was able to make a pass stick. He put his head down and was able to close the gap between him and the rider in first by half but the checkers flew and Wienen finished in second giving him his first second overall for the day. Brown got off to another rough start in moto 2 coming out mid pack. With few ideal-passing opportunities, Brown was only able to climb his way up to the fifth place position before the end of the moto. "The next two weeks I'm going to be really focusing on my starts. I haven't gotten the results I know I can get so far this season and I'm determined to get on top of the podium at the next round." said Brown.

Wienen Motorsports' Pro-Am rider Nick Gennusa has yet to find the finish he has been looking for this season. This weekend Gennusa had an eighth place finish in moto 1 and crashed in moto 2 leading to him finishing the race at the back of the field. He has been working hard and is looking for better results at Round 4.

The Mtn. Dew AMA ATV MX National Championship will host it's fourth round in Wienen's homestate at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, IL on May 31.
