Can-Am / Warnert Racing's AMA Pro ATV MX Report - Muddy Creek

Blountville, TN (6/26/2008) - With the conclusion of round eight of the AMA ATV MX Nationals, the Warnert Racing team has been consistently moving up the points ladder with John Natalie securely in the top five and Cody Miller quickly approaching the top ten.

Muddy Creek, which is somewhat of a narrow track compared to others, played host to all the action this weekend, and all though rain was in the forecast, conditions remained dry and pleasant throughout the course of the event.

As the gate dropped on moto one, Cody Miller was right in the mix, but Miller got caught in a pile up and spun around in the first turn, which sent him to the back of the pack. Miller got back into the mix and worked himself up to 12th place before reaching the finish line. In moto number two, Miller was towards the front in the top five off the gate but got boxed in and once again found himself towards the back. Miller again had his work cut out for him as he began to work his way back up through traffic. “It was a tight track and it made it a little difficult to pass, but I got back up to 11th,” Cody said. With the end of the season fast approaching, Miller hopes to increase his points to place within the top ten at season’s end. “We’ve done a lot of work and the bike is running really good, Cody concluded.

Meanwhile, John Natalie was not having a very good time of things in moto one. John left the line towards the back and kept his pace to finish in 16th place. Moto number two was a different story for John, however. John flew off the line in 5th place and held strong until lap eight when he made his move for 4th. John had caught up to Jeremy Lawson and began applying the pressure. It wasn’t long before Natalie was able to pass and take over 4th place, where he stayed until reaching the checkered flag. John’s moto two finish put him in 10th place overall and put him into 4th place in the points race.

The next round of the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals is scheduled for July 12-13th and will have the Warnert Racing team heading to Pleasure Valley Raceway in Armaugh, PA, which is a new facility for the series, and where the Warnert racers hope to increase their points standings as we head into the final rounds of the season.
