Warnert Racing’s Borich Wins Sixth Race, Kilby Chases after Championship

Chris Borich
Englishtown, NJ (9/5/2007) - Round # 9 of the WPSA Powersports tour found our Warnert Racing riders roaring to go at the Old Bridge Township, Raceway Park, NJ facility. Heading into this event, teammates Chris Borich and Chris Bithell had already proven they are dominate factors in these races and this event would further drive home that fact as conditions deteriorated on one of the muddiest and rock infested courses yet found in the series.

Borich, Bithell and Scott Kilby bring years of Cross Country racing experience with them as they faced one tough course and although Mother Nature would not make it easy on anyone, these three talented riders would prove why they belong out front.

During the main event, a rain once again moved in and track conditions became so bad that several riders abandoned their machines as they became hopelessly stuck in the mud. Chris Borich plowed forward on his Can-Am Outlander, using all that racing knowledge to propel him to a 31 second lead. Scott Kilby became stuck in the log section, only to break free and mount a charge back to the front to place pressure on the second place rider of Jesse West.

Scott Kilby
When the checkered flag flew, Chris Borich remained out front taking the win in commanding fashion, marking his 6th win of the series in only 7 races. Scott Kilby secured a second place finish marking his return to the top three, his best finish in several rounds of competition. With only 15 points separating Kilby and points leader Jesse West, the last and final round will be the deciding factor for Kilby and his quest to secure the Quad terrain championship.

With the final round falling on a conflicting GNCC & WPSA weekend, Chris Borich and Chris Bithell will be absent from the last round, however both have secured top 10 positions in the final standings! Borich leaves the series just 1 point out of Fourth, but will fall back due to missing the last race. Even with a late start to the series and missing the first 3 rounds, Chris Borich has taken his Warnert racing prepped Can Am to the front and the knowledge gained will be implemented into next years program.

The final round of the WPSA Powersports Tour will be held on September 15-16th at the Field of Dreams Raceway located in Boswell, Pennsylvania.
