Warnert Racing’s
Michael Swift Podiums at SnowShoe GNCC
Sauk Rapids, MN (7/9/2007) - The final
round of CanAm GNCC Racing before the Summer Break was
held at the SnowShoe Ski Resort in West Virginia, and
it was a truly unique event with the start of the race
held on the paved road leading to the mountain top village.
Unlike, typical GNCC events, racers started the race in
rows of five with their engines running in a grand prix
style start, which was a totally new experience for GNCC
ATV racers.
The Utility classes started randomly within the first
group of 16 rows, and Warnert Racing’s Rick Cecco
captured the prized first row pole starting position,
and he took advantage of the opportunity by leading
the race overall after the first lap followed by teammate,
Scott Kilby, in second overall. Unfortunately, Kilby
would experience a fuel issues in the second lap, which
ended his race day early. Cecco pushed on in the Overall
lead till the final lap of the brutally tough mountain
terrain with boulder size rocks and bottomless mud pits
when he ran into issues, which dropped him back to a
second place with a still impressive fourth overall
finish.

In the 4x4 limited, Michael Swift continued his winning
ways by charging his way to his seventh win of the year
on a nearly stock CanAm Outlander 800, and he also earned
the Warnert Racing Team its first top three overall
finish with a CanAm ATV Podium sweep. Michael Swift
lead the Warnert Racing Team to a third overall finish,
and he is only one race away from securing the 2007
4x4 Limited Class Championship.
In the 4x4 Lites, Cliffton Beasley ran strong the entire
race in second place as he went on to finish in an impressive
9th overall, and Beasley carries the 4x4 Lites points
lead into the Summer Break, and he only needs to win
one more race to secure the 4x4 Lites Championship.
The CanAm GNCC Warnert Racing Team has combined for
an incredible 19 wins in the first half of the season,
and with only 5 rounds of racing remaining, the team
is well on its way to sweeping all three Utility 4x4
class championships.
With a two month summer break, CanAm GNCC racing will
resume September 1st at the Mountain Ridge GNCC in Somerset,
PA.
