St. Clairsville, OH (10/8/2009) -Can-Am
Warnert racing’s Michael Swift continued his
winning streak at round twelve of the 2009 GNCC
series to take his twelfth straight win of the season,
while pro racer Chris Bithell conquered the mud
to take a top ten finish.
Heavy rains at Power Line Park created quite
a bit of mud for Saturday’s events, but
that didn’t stop the morning classes from
charging their way through. 4x4 Limited class
racer Michael Swift took another victory in his
class and is only one more win away from achieving
a perfect season. “I’ve gone 12 for
12 now and I just want to get out there and finish
it,” said Swift, who wrapped up the 4x4
Limited championship before the summer break.

Racing's Cliff Beasley would take his eleventh
win of the season in the 4x4 Lite class
at Round 12 |
Clifton Beasley took his eleventh win of the
season in the 4x4 Lites class. Beasley has had
an awesome season so far and wrapped up his class
championship at round ten. Beasley also plans
to take his class win at the final round in Indiana
later this month. “I’m really grateful
to have had such a good season. The support from
Can-am and Warnert has really helped me to do
that,” said Beasley.
The 4x4 Open championship will come down to the
final round due to an off track mishap that sent
Bryan Buckhannon back to a third place finish,
instead of taking his class win. “I am going
to try my best at the final round. I really want
to win and I really want to win the championship
again,” said a determined Buckhannon, who
has made a remarkable comeback after breaking
his leg earlier in the season.

Racer Chris Bithell conquered the mud at
Round 12 to take a top ten finish |
Even though the track had dried out in most places
by the time the afternoon classes took to the
track, there were still plenty of what seemed
to be bottomless mud pits throughout the course
that claimed many riders. Chris Bithell was lucky
enough to avoid any major mishaps and rode a solid
race to finish in ninth place.
Although most of the team has wrapped up their
class championships early, they will still be
riding hard in the final round in order to end
their seasons on a high note. Round thirteen,
the notorious Klotz Ironman round is scheduled
for October 24th in Crawfordville, IN where Bryan
Buckhannon will be looking to take his second
consecutive 4x4 Open championship.
