Warnert Racing's Michael Swift wrapped up
the 4X4 Limited Championship |
Snowshoe, WV (7/6/2009) - Can-Am
Warnert Racing’s Michael Swift took the overall
morning classes win and wrapped up the 4x4 Limited
Championship this weekend at round number nine of
the 2009 GNCC series while XC1 Pro class racer Chris
Bithell claimed a top ten finish despite a grueling
twenty mile course.
After nine straight wins, Michael Swift took
his second consecutive 4x4 Limited championship
at Snowshoe Valley. Swift charged off the line
to take the holeshot in his class and the overall
lead shortly after. Swift chose good lines and
was able to avoid the many bottlenecks that formed
around the track. Swift’s efforts earned
him his class win, the overall morning win, and
the 4x4 Limited Championship.
“It feels great to take the championship
this early in the season. It allows me to relax
a bit and ease some of the pressure,” said
Swift, who is still trying for a perfect season.
“I’d really like to get a perfect
season and I am still going to be trying for that
after we come back from the summer break,”
he concluded.

Beasley took another win in the
4X4 Lites class |
Cliff Beasley also took home another win for
the Can-Am Warnert team this weekend. Beasley
was first off the start and led his class the
entire race. Beasley not only took his class win,
but also took fifth overall.
Beasley is the points leader in the 4x4 Lites
class and if he claims the win at round number
ten, he will have his second consecutive 4x4 Lites
championship in the bag. “I plan on coming
back from the break and winning a championship,”
said Beasley.

Bithell got stuck behind some bottlenecks,
but was able to place 7th |
XC1 Pro class racer Chris Bithell was looking good
as he charged his way through the pack. Bithell
started out mid pack, but by lap number three, Bithell
had worked his way to the front and was leading
until he came upon one of the many bottlenecks that
formed over the twenty mile track. Bithell would
hang on to take a seventh place finish and has him
in the top ten of the Pro points race. Over
the summer break, the Can-Am Warnert team will be
training hard so they can be ready to dominate when
the series picks up again on September 12th at Unadilla,
which may even see the return of 4x4 Open racer
Bryan Buckhannon.
