Todd Vescovi Dies from Injuries in Falcon Motorsports

Thompson, CT (5/28/06) - During the
Falcon Motorsports show at the Thompson Speedway, Thompson,
CT there was an unfortunate event involving two quad
riders during a practice lap. The two riders, Kevin
Kendrick of Colchester, Connecticut and Todd Vescovi
of Easthampton, Massachusetts were in a final lap of
the practice race involving quads, otherwise known as
All-Terrain Vehicles, when the accident occurred. Both
riders were sent to Hubbard Hospital in Webster, Massachusetts
to be treated for injuries. Kevin Kendrick is still
being treated, Todd Vescovi was pronounced dead at approximately
3:30 pm.
"We are shocked and are deeply saddened by this
accident," said President Brent Sellew of Falcon
Motorsports. "They were both pro-level riders and
have been riding for a long time. Everyone at Falcon
is really upset by this and offer our condolences and
prayers to both families."
The event started early on Saturday morning at the Thompson
Speedway with many different types of vehicles scheduled
to race for the day. Vehicles such as All-Terrain Vehicles,
Streetbikes, Pitbikes and Rhinos were showcased at the
family event.
"Safety is always key with us," explained
Sellew, " All riders are required to wear the proper
safety gear, practice in a safe mode while driving and
maintain respect for their fellow riders and crew. This
accident was just so unfortunate. All our riders are
professional athletes, they know the risks, but you
just still never expect this to happen until it does."
Falcon Motorsports is a promoter of motorized events
throughout Southern New England. Their emphasis has
always been safety and professionalism, to give riders
a safe place to ride and bring a new level of family
orientated entertainment to the New England area. They
have been operating since 2001 with future events planned
in Worcester, MA and in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to perform
for the troops
Todd Vescovi also raced in the NE-ATV MX Series, which
is New England’s premiere motocross series, and
they are retiring Vescovi’s Pro racing number
35 to honor the lose of one of New England’s fastest
ATV racers.
