Shelbyville, TN (11/10/2014) - Round 8 of TORN was held at Triple R Ranch in Combine, Texas on October 21st. The Utility class has had some stiff competition all year long and round 8 would be no different with eight Utility quads lined up for the 2 p.m. start. Triple R Ranch is a 3,000 acre ranch about 25 miles south of Dallas with a variety of terrain and some nice elevation changes. The course would be just over five miles with some long field sections, good flowing woods, and some off camber hill climbs.

Team UXC Racing's Chris Robinson won the 2014 TORN Racing Series Utility Class Championship on his Polaris Scrambler XP 1000 |
With a
championship in sight Team UXC rider Chris Robinson’s main focus was a good start and top three finish to secure the valuable points.
When the flagged dropped Robinson’s Scrambler shot off the line and as every-one funneled into the first turn he swept the outside and claimed a second place position as they headed into the first wooded section. Af-ter holding
down second place for the entire first lap, Rob-inson spotted a inside line on a down hill around mile one of the second lap and made the pass for the lead.
After leading for the next two laps, Robinson got passed for a short period of time only to regain the lead with one lap to go. He was able to hold on for the win and the 2014 TORN Utility Championship.
“The Polaris Scrambler XP 1000 EPS was solid and my Custom Axis Suspension along with my Fasst Company Flexx Bars soaked up the choppy field sections that were full of acceleration and braking pumps. The Maxxis Ceros tires provided great traction and stable
cornering on the off camber hill climbs. I would like to thank all of my sponsors and looking forward to a strong 2015 season,” commented Robinson.
Next week Team UXC heads South to Ensenada for the 47th annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 where they are leading the World Desert Championship points race.
