2009 Tecate SCORE Baja
1000 Race Live Updates this Friday
ATV
& UTV Race Day Updates on Friday November
20th
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico (11/16/2009)
– The 42nd annual Tecate SCORE Baja
1000 will kick off on November 19th through November
22nd and this year ATVRiders.com will be in attendance
to provide updates through out the race.
Updates will be posted on the site about every
two hours during the day, or as important info
comes in. Among some of the many ATV teams racing
will be the Craig Christy team, Wayne Matlock’s
team, and Mike Penland, who are all veterans of
the grueling event. In the UTV class, Kawasaki’s
Reid Nordin will be trying his luck as well, pushing
his Kawasaki Teryx to the limit over the brutal
desert track.
The Baja 1000 has become known as one of the
toughest, but most incredible races on the planet
and has been the subject of many documentaries,
including the critically acclaimed motion picture,
“Dust to Glory”.
The desert course changes in length and route
every year, but every year it features miles of
dusty desert trails, a few sections of highway,
where racers are encouraged to obey the speed
limits, and the notorious silt beds that claim
numerous victims every year.
Look for ATVRiders.com’s coverage of the
2009 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 to begin on Friday
morning November 20th as riders begin to depart
and continue throughout the day to the finish.
Also, a complete ATV / UTV Race Report along
with hundreds of photos will be released within
a few days after the race on ATVriders.com
