Canada (10/1/2008) - This
past weekend was round 6 of the Canadian national
Championship at the Sand-del-lee MX track in
Richmond, Ontario. The sand track host a MX
national during the summer. The layout is nice
and long, but prior rain made the sand heavy.
This proved to be hard on the engine, as bike
were
overheating left and right. Unfortunately the
track got one lined and really hard to pass. Start
would be crucial.
On the first moto, I was able to steal the
holeshot from fellow Can-Am rider Michael Ouellet.
From there, I rode really smooth looking for
some good lines. I was able to opened up a good
gap on second place and cruised to the checkered
flag.
Second moto, I was quite a bit on my nerve,
as the start would be even more important. I
once again stole the holeshot, this time over
KTM James Bank. On the first lap, I was able
to open up a good gap on him. That allow me
to take some creative line to avoid running
in the deep ruts. I rode mistake free and really
enjoyed how my Can-Am was working out there.
The power, thank to the new Hindle pipe we designed,
was awesome. I crossed the line first.
There is one round to go at Ste-Julie MX track
on October 11th.
