In 2008 Polaris & Rath Racing are going to the Gate!
Rath Racing announces Factory Polaris WPSA MX and QTC Team

Minneapolis, MN (1/10/2008) -Rath Racing will be going to the gate in the 2008 WPSA series with a new brand underneath them and a new roster of riders. Over the past few years Rath Racing has taken pride in the level of support they have offered to the racers- from youth to the Pros. As active as they are in the ATV Industry it only made sense to field their own factory-backed team along with continuing to support other riders. In 2008 Rath Racing has joined forces with Polaris Industries to showcase a new Factory Team at the WPSA Series, along with a few other select events.

Daryl Rath, who has raced for Polaris previously, was impressed with the enthusiasm of the Polaris Marketing Department when they approached him. “Polaris is a company with a new sport quad that is serious about racing. After a few meetings with them I realized that with both engineering and marketing involved with this racing effort, their long-term race plans and with my years of experience, I knew we could build a winning team. I am very happy with this relationship, I feel we share the same level of commitment to a race program.” Added Daryl Rath.

Justin Burke, Polaris ATV Marketing states “Polaris is extremely excited to be bringing Rath aboard for 2008. It is our first full effort in the WPSA and Daryl brings a ton of experience and success with him. With his team on the Outlaw 450 MXR and the Sportsman, it gives us a huge opportunity to show that Polaris is serious about winning and that our machines are contenders.”

This new team will be going to the gate showcasing a wide variety of Polaris vehicles this season from the all new Polaris Outlaw 450 MXR , Outlaw 525S, Sportsman 4x4’s and the Polaris RZR. Piloting those machines will be:

Daryl Rath (Pro QTC-Pro Supermoto-Pro Side-x-Side- Pro TT) - brings over 26 years of racing experience in a vast variety of disciplines from MX- TT – Cross Country – Supermoto – Ice Racing– WPSA Quad Terrain Challenge - Endurocross and Side by Side racing. He competes in both sport classes and utility classes. His PRO accomplishments include 4 National Championships- 2 International Championships- 38 State/District Championships – and the first ever Quad Terrain Challenge Championship. In the 2008 season Daryl will be competing on a Sportsman in QTC, an Outlaw525 in Supermoto, Cross Country and a RZR in select Side by Side Events.

Landon Hurst (Pro MX – Pro Supermoto)- hails from the West Coast ITP series in MX he is excited to make the transfer to WPSA. Landon will run a few ITP races as the schedule allows. Landon also brings some Supermoto experience to the team and will join Daryl as a teammate at the SNV Supermoto

Brock Lyons (Pro MX) - from Indiana joining bringing ATVA and WPSA experience with him. Brock has also agreed to represent at a few select GNCC's. “ I am thrilled to be part of the first and only American manufactured ATV motocross race team” stated Brock Lyons.

Cody Anderson (Pro-Am MX) - a long time support rider of Rath Racing will be representing in the Pro-Am class. Cody has also raced Supermoto and TT so you may see him compete in a few of those. Cody added, “ I am stoked to be a part of this winning combination, Polaris and Rath Racing. I am looking forward to taking my program to the next level.”

Jay Corey (B Class MX) - The youngest rider on the roster has been working hard as he comes up through the ranks. Jay brings both MX experience and Cross Country racing to the team.

No stranger to the racetrack or the day to day world of the ATV Industry Jennifer Rath will step into the Race Team Manager position. “We took some time in building this team. I wanted to take some riders that showed the same love, dedication and passion for racing that we have, and build a strong team around that. It was important to build a team that will connect on and off the track, work together to succeed. This is a team full of young talent and it is going to be an exciting year working with them and watching them on the track.” Stated Jennifer Rath, Race Team Manager
