Fight to Save Oceano Dunes (Pismo Beach)

Oceana, CA (3/6/2007) - We at Friends
of Oceano Dunes (FoOD) are continuing our efforts in
the fight to keep the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation
Area (ODSVRA) (Formerly know as Pismo Beach) open to
all who wish to visit and enjoy participating in the
many activities available at the popular park. In order
to be successful in this fight, a tremendous amount
of resources, including volunteer time and financial
support from our many members and supporters, is required.
As part of our fundraising efforts, FoOD holds an annual
Crab Feed in Hanford, Ca. each year. This year’s
event will be very exciting, with fun for all. Dinner,
cocktails, music, dancing and raffle prizes are sure
to make this year’s event very special. The 2007
Crab Feed will be held Saturday March 31, 2007 in the
Rose Room at the Kings Fair Building in Hanford.
FoOD also holds an annual Poker Run at the ODSVRA every
4th of July weekend. The event is fun for the whole
family. Game stations are placed throughout the dunes
ending with a 5 card draw poker hand at the end –
last year’s high-hand grand prize was a 4x4 golf
cart. This year’s Poker Run will be held Saturday,
July 7, 2007 at the entrance to Sand Highway at the
ODSVRA.
FoOD is seeking raffle prize donations to help make
both events the best they can be. All donations are
tax deductible (tax id: #954867891) and every dollar
earned goes into the FoOD legal fund. This fund supports
our legal efforts and allows FoOD to continue our fight
to keep the most popular State Park in California open
all.
Suze Richardson, Lori Dellanini, Richard Dellanini,
Jason Hawes and Karyn LeMay of the Club ATV West are
volunteering their time to collect donations. Please
support them!
