2010 New England ATV Motocross
Pro Class Season Preview
New Faces, New Machines, New
Opportunities
Shelton, CT (4/21/2010)
- With less than a week until the first
round of the 2010 New England ATV Motocross
series at Walden MX on April 25th, many racers
are putting the finishing touches on their winter
rebuilds. The cobwebs of last year have been
swept away as everyone is chomping at the bit
to head to the starting gate for the first time
since last year.
BCS Performance, NEATV title sponsor,
along with Can-AM have put together a team this
year and have been dialing in their machines
over the last several weeks. Cody Miller, Ralle
Rookey, and Myles Santaniello are all racing
in the Pro and Pro-AM classes this year and
will all be looking to secure a podium position.
“Cody (Miller) has helped a lot with the
Fox Shox suspension setup on our new bikes and
Myles and I are both excited to be on the team
together with him...BCS and my father have helped
out a ton so far this year as well and we are
all feeling strong headed into 2010” said
Ralle Rookey. Rookey has been training harder
than ever in his career this year and he feels
very confident on his new Can-AM and is looking
forward to the season and has hopes for a podium.
When asked about the upcoming season Ralle said
“NEATV is really being progressed at a
rapid rate in 2010 because of so many nationally
ranked quad racers coming into the series, it’s
going to be a tough and exciting year.”

Cody
Miller traveled to New Hampshire in 2009
for the NEATV Season Finale at Jolly Roger
MX Park, he walked away with a 3rd overall
in only his first race in New England |
Another newcomer to the Can-Am
lineup is two-time defending NEATV Pro and Pro-Am
champion Joe Haavisto. The New Ipswich, NH native
has been balancing his schedule between training
and work, and is looking forward to the season
as well. “I’ve switched to and ridden
every other major ATV manufacturer out there
besides Can-AM and I feel good on the bike.
It seems pretty easy to work on and I really
feel like now, Can-Am is the way to go.”
comments Haavisto. Joe practices on a stock
ATV, but his race bike will include Elka Suspension
and a powerplant by Motoworks under the hood.
“I feel that the series is getting a lot
stronger and especially with the push from the
Canadian racers, including Jasmine (Plante)
and Richard (Pelchat) the series will have a
lot more excitement and competition this year!”
In 2009, Michael Pilotte had a
strong year finishing second overall in the
Pro and Pro-Am points chase. For 2010, Pilotte
will be coming back, charging hard and wearing
the color orange for his new DRT prepped KTM
450. “I feel more confident, mentally
and physically, than ever before and I’m
really hungry for a win” said Pilotte
during talks about this upcoming season. Michael
also commented “The bike has tons of power,
handles really well, and is dependable, durable,
and we all are comfortable working on the bike.”

with a strong desire of adding an NEATV Championship
to his resume. Along with Jasmine, Mathieu Deroy
will be making the trek from Canada to race
the entire series this year as well.
Jason Connell will be back for
2010, this time on a Honda TRX450R, with Elka
suspension, a DASA powerplant and Walsh Race
Craft will be doing the connecting suspension
components such as swing arm and a-arms. “Kawasaki
pulled all of their support and we had no choice
but to switch...I'm not too worried about the
switch, I'm comfortable on it” Said Jason.
“I’m happy that the Canadians will
be racing in the series, they are really fast
and will bring some extra competition to the
game” he also commented.
