NASMOTO
Music City Motorplex ATV SuperMoto Race
Santa Monica, CA (8/17/2007) - Nashville
is in for a treat Thursday August 31st through Sunday
Sept 2nd when the national racing circus of the AMA
Pro Racing and NASMOTO SuperMoto series come to town
featuring the nation’s fastest motorcycles running
on the combine dirt and asphalt track at the Music City
Motorplex in Nashville, TN for the 3rd annual 07 Extreme
Cycle Jam contest.
This is the first time in 2007 where the AMA Pro series
and the NASMOTO amateur series has come together to
present wall to wall racing designed to thrill the fans
and provide heart-pounding entertainment.
Headlining the Saturday Pro event is the AMA Supermoto
Championship racers with points leader and Ohio native
Mark Burkhart riding the Graves Motorsports Yamaha to
a 93-89 points advantage over the defending AMA SuperMoto
king Jeff Ward. Burkhart will be using his speed and
consistency to mix it up with Ward and give the fans
an excellent show.
Changes in the track for 2007 are designed to increase
the fan experience at the fairgrounds raceway. The dirt
section has been moved closer to the stadium seating
with the Part Unlimited urban jump located right across
from the fans.
Music City Motorplex is home to the ATV Championships
for SMX ATV Pro-Am and Amateur ATV SuperMoto. In this
winner-take-all format, the winning purse is over $3,000.
Contenders for the national pro title include Zac Willett,
Daryl Rath, and Nick Granlund.
Fans love this form of racing because four wheels on
a supermoto track is controlled chaos. A racer may loose
and gain control four to five times a lap. Dancing on
the knife edge is a way of life for these combatants.
For the amateur racing enthusiast, NASMOTO has created
a Sportsman class that encourages newcomers to participate
in the sport and requires only a tire modification.
NASMOTO will have a tire changing service at the racing
facility for all novice SuperMoto riders. The Sportsman
class assists local motorcycle dealers in creating a
low cost and highly entertaining weekend for their customers.
In no other series can a fan say they raced on the same
track as the pros.
“After our success last year our goal is to grow
a bigger and better event for the future,” said
Norman W. Partin, General Manager of Music City Motorplex.
“We are combining Music City USA with world-class
racers and fast race tracks to build an event where
fans want to return year after year. Our 3rd annual
Extreme Cycle Jam is the most exciting event to date!”
Schedule includes open practice and media day on Friday,
Pro racing and Dealer team racing on Saturday and NASMOTO
racing on Sunday.
Tickets with pit passes are $30 at the Music City Motorplex
box office or $15 at participating dealers including
Castle Powersports, Precision Cycles, Americas Motorsports
, Boswell Harley Davidson and at the track. Children
5 and under free.
