Gibson joins the Mushin Racing Team
for 2010

Reynoldsburg, OH (1/12/2010) -
Mushin Racing, headed up by team owner Scott Ward,
made the announcement recently that it would be
adding Cody Gibson and Jeffrey Rastrelli to its
2010 racer line up and has also added a couple
of well respected names to it’s support
staff.
Cody Gibson, who had an amazing 2009 season,
taking the Pro-am Production Championship by
winning six of ten rounds, will be joining the
pro ranks for 2010. “I’ve got a
good program in place and I’m getting
pumped for the start of the season,” said
Gibson, who will be trading his Kawasaki KFX450
for a Suzuki LTR450 this season.

Jeff Rastrelli will also be moving up for the
2010 season. Rastrelli began his 2009 season
dominating the Schoolboy Sr. class but decided
he needed more of a challenge and spent the
remainder of his 2009 season racing the Pro-am
Unlimited and Production A classes. Rastrelli
made his Pro-am Production debut at the final
round of 2009 at Loretta Lynn’s and claimed
a respectable fourth place finish. For 2010,
Rastrelli will be racing the Pro-am Production
class full time and is hoping his first season
will be a successful one.

Mushin
Racing will also be supporting Yamaha's
#84 Thomas Brown
|
Mushin Racing will also be providing support
to Yamaha’s Thomas Brown as well for the
2010 season, in the form of mechanical support,
provided by newly appointed crew chief, Jody
Bateman of JB Racing. “JB Racing is proud
to be a part of this new team and we are all
looking forward to the start f the new season,”
said Bateman.
Also joining the Mushin Racing staff is one
of the most well liked figures in the industry,
Jeremiah Jones. Jones will be taking on the
roll of the team’s marketing director,
which should be a good fit for both Jones and
the team.
While many manufactures have scaled back or
cut out their racing efforts altogether, Mushin
Racing is stepping up to fill the void that
has been left, and bringing along with it, a
new philosophy on ATV racing. “We have
our team of riders, but just because someone
is not a part of our team or is our competitor,
doesn’t mean that we won’t help
them out,” said Scott Ward. “Everyone
in this sport deserves to have an equal chance.
For us, it’s all about helping people.”
If you look up the term “Mushin”,
you will find it is an old martial arts term
that loosely translated, means that one is open
and ready for anything. Scott Ward has taken
this same open-minded approach and applied it
to his team’s efforts in ATV Racing.

Scott Ward's
sons Kodi & Ashton will also be
on the Mushin Racing Team competing
in the youth classes
|
Initially, Ward started his team to secure
a future in racing for his two sons, Kodi and
Ashton, who race in the youth classes at Nationals.
“If we don’t do something about
our children’s future, they won’t
have one,” stated Ward. “We want
to change the way teams operate in this industry.
We can’t just keep doing the same things
or our sport will never progress.”
Although hush-hush for now, Ward also promises
that he has a few other things up his sleeve
for the coming year that should benefit the
industry. “I should have another announcement
in about a month as to another project that
I am working on that will be a big step forward,”
he stated.
By surrounding himself with some of the best
new riding talent, and some of the most well
respected people in the industry, Scott Ward
and Mushin Racing seem poised for a very successful
year.
