Moto Pro
Training rider Michael Swift continues
his winning streak in the Utility Limited
Class
|
Baltimore, MD (5/5/2009) -This
weekend was another successful weekend for Moto
Pro Training Racers around the country. Starting
in the morning at the 6th round of GNCC racing,
Michael Swift continued his winning streak in
the Utility Limited Class and finished 2nd overall.
Placing 2nd and 3rd in the Women’s Class
were hard charging Jennifer Albright (4th over
all) and our newest MPT member Kristen Atwell.
Both ladies rode fast and smart in what was some
of the worst weather conditions seen thus far.
The afternoon had its ups and downs for our
pros, but Bill Ballance managed a top ten finish
at 8th place, securing some more points in his
quest for another championship.
Sunday’s bike race had Barry Hawk finishing
5th, keeping him in the hunt against his two
wheeled competitors.

Jarrod
McClure make his return to the Podium
for 2009 with a 3rd Overall
|
Leaving the GNCC race in Tennessee, Jarrod McClure
(10th place finish) and I raced the clock to catch
a plane and head to California for the 4th round
of the WORCS series held at Honey Lake MX Track.
To further enhance this story let me explain that
Jarrod left Pennsylvania on Thursday night after
working all day and drove through the night with
his crew to get to Tennessee on Friday, raced
Saturday and then he and I just made our flight
in Nashville, landed in Sacramento at 9:50 p.m.
(WST) drove 2.5 hours to Reno, Nevada before bedding
down for the night (approximately 3 a.m. EST).
We woke up (6 a.m.) to a combination of snow and
rain mix that was being blown around by extreme
high winds drove another hour to the track and
thankfully with help from the MotoWorks Crew and
Mike Cafro Racing we were sitting on the line
ready to go at 11:30 a.m. The race had some really
great action with the west coast pros dicing it
out on a really cool course on the side of a mountain.
Moto Pro Training’s Beau Baron finished
on top of the podium with Jarrod McClure close
behind in the 3rd position. Sharing Beau’s
success was owner and manager of MCR, Mike Cafro,
another MPT racer, who finished a respectable
7th against the rigorous track and competition.
The rather stressful trip was worth it in the
end!

Two of our motocross racers managed safe and
good rides at Sunset Ridge on Sunday. Josh Upperman
finished 5th overall, with a great second moto
ride placing 2nd and Pat Brown managed a solid
7th for the day.
Congratulations to all of our racers! Look
for the momentum to continue as the season presses
on!
