Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Josh
Creamer Finishes Top-5 in Kentucky
WPSA Powersports ATV Tour - Super Quad Pro 450
IRVINE, CA (6/19/2007) - Monster Energy
Kawasaki ATV rider Josh Creamer turned out his best main
event performance of the season with a top-five finish
during round five of the WPSA series in London, Ky.
Coming off two heat-race wins on Friday and Saturday,
Creamer came out to prove he could race his Kawasaki
KFX®450R with the front-runners. In the second main
of the doubleheader, he got a sixth-place start and
quickly worked his way through the pack, eventually
crossing the finish with a solid fifth-place finish.
“I got by one guy right away and continued to
push it from there,” said Creamer. “I’m
going to continue to train hard before the next race.
We are going to work with our suspension guys this week,
making it better than they already are, and hopefully
move up better than fifth place.”
In the first main of the doubleheader, Creamer was
in third-place, but a red-flag forced a full restart
and he ended the race in 14th.
Teammate Jason Luburgh, who was still recovering from
a ruptured eardrum suffered from a crash on Friday,
got off the line just outside the top-10 and worked
his way up to a respectable eighth-place finish in the
second main event.
“I just tried to hold pace with the people right
in front of me because I knew I could keep up with them,”
said Luburgh. “I had a hard time getting going
in the beginning since I’m still screwed up from
the concussion and my ear hurting a lot. Once I got
into a groove, I felt more comfortable.”
Due to his crash on Friday, Luburgh was unable to race
the heat events and did not qualify for the first main
of the doubleheader.
Baldwin Motorsport Kawasaki rider Josh Upperman got
a great start during the first race and finished in
seventh, while taking 13th in the second race.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s William Yokley, who
contests the GNCC series, attended his home-state race
to compete in the QuadTerrain Pro Stock class aboard
Kawasaki Brute Force™ 650 4x4i. He finished top-5
in his heat races, but had some unfortunate luck in
the main events.
The Monster Energy Kawasaki ATV team will head to Virginia
Motorsport Park in Petersburg, Va. on June 30, for a
doubleheader in the WPSA ATV Series.
