2007 Kawasaki Team Green ATV Race Team Announced
2008 Kawasaki KFX450R
IRVINE, CA (01/01/2007) - After a short hiatus from ATV racing, Kawasaki returns to the sport in full force, which is no surprise after announcing the early release of 2008 KFX450R. The KFX450R is supposed to hit showroom floors in the first quarter of 2007 and just in time for the start of 2007 racing season.

Team Green has already signed three Pro riders for 2007, and there is a possibly the team will expand to include some new faces before the end of the race season, but as of now #8 Jason Luburgh and #270 Josh Creamer will race motocross at either or both the ATVA MX Nationals and/or the WPSA ATV Tour, and #5 William Yokley will go after the championship in the GNCC Series on the KFX450R.

An official press release is expected from Kawasaki in the very near future once all the team sponsors are finalized including a title sponsor, but as of now it has been confirmed that long time Kawasaki partner, Pro Circuit, will be building the engines and exhaust systems, and IMS-Roll will also be also be actively involved with the race team.

The ATV racing community can give a big thanks to long time ATV enthusiast Reid Nordin for his role in making the KFX450 ATV and the newly formed race team a reality. Kawasaki Team Green™ Manager Reid Nordin has been with Kawasaki for over 21 years, and his career began with Kawasaki as the wrench for pro ATC racer, Jimmy White, which was short lived after the manufacturers dropped out of racing, but Reid continued on with Kawasaki while Jimmy White has remained involved in the ATV industry over the years by managing the Pro Quads Stadium Series for many years before its end in 2005, and he also has worked with various ATV aftermarket manufacturers over the years as well.

Two decades later, the pair is reunited with Jimmy White returning to Kawasaki to assist Reid Nordin as the ATV Team Coordinator with a new generation of ATV racers being embraced by the manufacturers once again, but hopefully this one want be as short lived as the first time around.

In addition to Kawasaki fielding a race team, they also released an impressive contingency program for 2007 in the ATVA National MX, WPSA, WORCS, GNCC, and White Brothers 4 Stroke Nationals. There is over $560,000 up for grabs with pros eligible for a minimum of $5,000 in contingency per round at all the event, and the amateurs are also eligible for a large share of one of the largest ever manufacturer contingency payouts for ATVs.

The 2007 race season is looking to be bigger and better than ever with Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kymco, Polaris, and Can-Am all expanding their involvement in ATV racing with KTM about to join in on the fun as well. The only manufacturer cutting back its support for ATV racing is Honda as they have dropped all their support for the GNCC & Extreme Dirt Track series.

Over the month more race team details will begin to be finalized and ATVriders.com will continue to be on top of the latest ATV racing news.
