Joe Haavisto - podium

Kawasaki's Joe Haavisto continued the 2009 NEATV season with 2 more wins

Irvine, CA (5/29/2009) - Kawasaki ATV rider Joe Haavisto rode to his second sweep of the New England ATV series, earning overall victories in both the Open Pro and Pro Am classes at Jolly Rogers Motorsports Park in Lempster, N.H. Other than a few rain drops on Sunday, the motos were held under great conditions.

Pro Winner
Haavisto was ready to come back from a tough Round 2 and add a couple more wins to books this season. In the first Open Pro moto, it was clear everyone was going fast and looking for the win. Haavisto finished second and was more determined than ever to go after a win in the second moto. After the gate dropped on Moto 2, he battled for several laps before securing the pass to pull away for the win.

“The track was still smooth in the first moto and that kept the pace pretty fast,” said Haavisto. “The second moto I had my mind set right away to win. I was able to get around (Jasmin) Plante and not let (Michael) Pilotte get away. It was a good battle.”

Pro Am Winner
Unlike the Open Pro moto, Haavisto had an uneventful two motos to take home his second win of the season.

“The second moto for this class was the fourth and final of the day,” said Haavisto. “I think that a lot of riders were tired and the track was pretty rough by that point. I was able to pass quickly and secure my lead in the second moto. My Kawasaki really handled well in the rough conditions and I was able to stay fresh for every moto.”
