Millville, MN (7/2/2014) - JB Racing/DWT/Mtn. Dew Live Wire Can-Am’s Joel Hetrick charged his way to another podium finish at the highly anticipated round six of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships at Spring Creek MX.

One of the most challenging tracks of the season was laid out for this round of the series. The course included a huge roller section, and the Pro section that was added, included uphill and downhill jumps that challenged all and showed who was on top of their game.

Despite inclement weather that has been plaguing the Midwest the past couple of weeks, Mother Nature cut everyone some slack and gave the Pro motos a break from the rain, which everyone was thankful for. The track dried out well, but it did become quite rough throughout the day, but #88 Joel Hetrick was up for the challenge.

In moto one, Joel Hetrick was in fifth off the start, but he went to work right away and began to battle with the competition. Hetrick’s efforts paid off and he was able to cross the finish line in a respectable second place. “I didn’t get the start I wanted, but it all worked in my favor. I just waited for good opportunities and I was able to make the passes I needed,” said Hetrick.

For the second moto, Hetrick once again found himself in the number five spot. Hetrick put the hammer down and started picking off the competition. In the sixth lap, he recorded the fastest lap of the moto with a time of 02:01:49 and took over third place. Hetrick held his position all the way to the checkered flag to finish third in moto two and claim second on the Pro podium.

“My JB Racing/DWT/Mtn. Dew Can-Am was working awesome this weekend. I was catching the top two guys in those rollers and I was pretty impressed with that. This was one of the roughest tracks so far this season and everything worked great out there. This has been a good season, I am second in points and I am going to just try to keep getting on the podium and keep racking up points,” said Hetrick.

Round number seven of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships heads to New Berlin, NY for the NYCM Insurance Northeastern ATV National on July 12th, where Joel Hetrick will be going for the win.
