JB Off-Road ATV Racers Take Podium at Snowshoe GNCC
Sam Williams & Duck Lloyd Take Podium at GNCC Round 9

Masontown, WV (7/3/2013) - The ninth round of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series brought gnarly rocks, steep hills and a lot of mud. Heavy rain leading up to the race made the conditions extra slick and treacherous for the racers. JB Off-Road’s Sam Williams earned second in the 4x4 Open Class and Duck Lloyd took third in the Junior A 22+ Class.

JB Off-Road's Sam Williams placed second aboad his Can-Am Outlander Utility ATV at the Snowshoe GNCC

Sam Williams grabbed another second place on his JB Off-Road Can-Am Outlander in the 4x4 Open class. Williams was in second on the first lap, but fell to third on lap two; he stayed right on the bumper of his opponent and soon passed back to second position. He remained in second for the remainder of the six lap race. He bested third by 02:45.188.  He also finished an impressive seventh overall. Williams currently holds second in the class.

“My Can-Am Outlander handled great. I was easily able to pull the line I wanted in the mud hole with my ITP Terracross Tires,” said Williams.

Duck Lloyd - Suzuki LTR450 ATV
Duck Lloyd placed 3rd in the Junior 22+ Class on his JB Offroad Suzuki LTR450 ATV in Snowshoe, WV

In the Junior 22+ Class, Duck Lloyd put in a stellar ride to take third. Lloyd grabbed the early lead after the live engine start; however his chain came off and dropped him back several positions. He was able to come back to second as the class went through scoring. He was pressuring the leader when his chain derailed once again, and he fell to fifth position.  Lloyd rallied and battled his way back to third position by the checkered flag.

“The quad was working great; I just had some bad luck with the chain. I can’t thank JB Off-Road, Makson Construction, Cheerwine, Fly and the rest of our sponsors enough,” regarded Lloyd after the race. Lloyd currently holds the Junior A 22+ class points lead on his JB Off-Road / Cheerwine Suzuki.

The JB Off-Road team can relax as the GNCC summer break is here. The team will resume racing on September 7, 2013 at Unadilla in New Berlin, NY. The final four races will be exciting as Williams looks to snag his first victory of the season and Lloyd fights to keep his points lead and earn his first GNCC class championship.
