Masontown, WV (5/29/2014) - DWT/ Jarrod McClure Racing’s (JMR) rider Jarrod McClure finished seventh in the ATV XC1 Pro class at round seven of the GNCC series in Masontown, WV. McClure’s teammate XC2 Pro Am racer Randy Hamilton secured a fifth place finish in the XC2 Pro Am class, making an exciting weekend for the Jarrod McClure Racing Team.

The Mountaineer Run GNCC track is known as one of the rockiest on the circuit, and it held true to that. After being abused by amateur racers all morning, the track was looking brutal with plenty of rocks now exposed making for an interesting two-hour race.
McClure once again had a terrible start when his ATV did not fire on the starting line. He got by a few riders in the first turn pileup but went into the woods near dead last. The track was very dusty in the fields, and it was going to be a hard day to make up any ground.

“I don’t know what I am doing wrong? I practice starts at home all week then get to the race and I can’t get off the line. I am really getting tired of starting in the back,” said McClure.
ATVriders.com McClure moved all the way up into the sixth position at about the halfway point in the race. He never could reel in the top five, and swapped position several times with Brycen Neal on the last two laps of the race. Jarrod came through the finish in the seventh position for the day only a few seconds behind sixth.
“I just really struggled with the conditions today. I would catch some guys in the woods and then hit the fields and get lost in the dust. The rocks were gnarly and I was trying not to tear up the quad out there. I had some great battles with Landon Wolfe and Brycen I can tell them guys are really starting to feel at home in the pro class”, said McClure.
JMR’s XC2 Pro Am Racer Randy Hamilton put in a solid fifth place finish. Hamilton had a terrible start just like his teammate. Hamiton was able to work his way up into the top five and even battled for fourth place with Blake Kramer on the last lap.
After seven rounds of GNCC Racing, McClure is sitting fifth in the XC1 Pro Class with teammate Hamilton sitting sixth in XC2. The JMR Team will be ready to go in two weeks at the John Penton GNCC in Milfield, OH.
