Holz Racing's Beau Baron Wins Straddleline WORCS
Holz Racing Polaris RZR Race Team

Lynden, WA (8/8/2014) - Round #7 of the 2014 WORCS series took place August 2nd at Straddleline ORV Park near McCleary, WA. The series drivers headed north to the state of Washington where tight trails and trees are the norm - different terrain from what they’ve been racing so far this season.

Beau Baron pulled the crucial holeshot in his Curtis Sparks powered, Polaris RZR XP 1000 at the start of SXS Pro race and calmly drove a solid, smooth race until they got into lap traffic. Things tightened up as Ryan Piplic pulled up on Baron, but when the dust settled, Baron posted the fastest lap of the race with a 5:14.095 and the win after 8 laps and 42 minutes, 18 seconds of tight, twisting RZR action.

Teammate RJ Anderson was busy down at Glen Helen, racing his Polaris RZR sponsored Pro-2 at the Lucas Oil Off-Road series, so car builder and former WORCS racer, Mark Holz stepped in as a fill-in driver. Starting from the fourth row, Holz took the #37 car and worked his way up through traffic. Holz just missed putting the Holz/Walker Evans Polaris RZR XP on the box, finishing fourth on corrected time. “It’s great to get out here and have this kind of fun. We work so hard building these Polaris RZRs to be the best, most capable cars in all the series’ we race in.” said Mark Holz.

Moving onto the SXS Production 1000 class, another Holz lined up... this time it was, relative newcomer to SXS racing, Mark’s son Ryan. Ryan has been racing this summer in Canada and getting used to the transition from 2-wheels to 4-wheels. The younger Holz parked his dirt bike and climbed into the #58 Holz Racing Products/Walker Evans Racing/ Polaris RZR XP 1000 to try his hand at UTV racing in the WORCS series. Just like dad, he started from fourth row. From there he started to put together a solid run. Running lap times on par with series regulars and putting together some seasoned veteran-caliber passes. In his first WORCS race out, Ryan posted third fastest lap in the field, and proved he has what it takes to be behind the wheel of these championship proven cars.

Next up, RJ Anderson and Beau Baron will head to Glen Helen in Devore, CA for Round #8 of the WORCS Series with their HRP/ Polaris RZR XP 1000s on September 13th. The Holz/Coastal RZR XP will headed to Las Vegas for the Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno on August 15th. And the Coastal GNCC team will get their Polaris RZRs ready for Round #5 at The ITP Powerline Park in Wheeling, West Virginia on October 4th.
