Pro Win at Lake Havasu

In the ATV Pro Class, Elka/ Maxxis' Beau Baron was fortunately able to start his quad on the first kick when the flag dropped on the dead engine start. Running towards the front of the pack, Baron took over the lead on lap six. As one of few riders to clear the lagoon jump, he quickly separated himself from the rest of the field. Crossing the checkers in first place, he was very happy to put his H&M Motorsports Honda on top of the box.

The track offered very diverse sections of terrain and conditions ranging from deep sandy ruts, muddy sections with deep puddles, dust, and high temperatures. As one of the most popular races of the series, Baron was very satisfied to capture this win. "It is a really big deal for me to get a win here. Anything could happen at any of the races, and I almost lost the race completely when I landed in the water over the lagoon jump, so to get those points and to keep going is very important to me, so hopefully by the end of the series I'll have a good lead like last year," Baron stated in regards to his strategy to capture the WORCS Pro ATV Championship.
In the SxS Pro Class, Baron grabbed the holeshot in his Walker Evans Polaris RZR, but was pressured right away. Dropping back to third, he capitalized on the mechanical failures of another driver and took over second place. Ironically, he began experiencing some machine malfunctions of his own when he lost his brakes and had to slow his charge, but he still held on for a second place finish.

Teammate David Haagsma was off to a good start in the ATV Pro Class in the early stages of the race. With the treacherous terrain and high heat, he slowly slipped back a few positions and had to settle for a fourth place finish. Despite the intense conditions, finishing in the top five is very impressive as Haagsma continues to push forward in the hunt for the title.
